Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG)
Students in years 3-6 who have identified as Aboriginal are invited to join our Junior AECG. From this group, four members are elected as our executive for the year. The executive undertake roles in the wider Parkes community such as the ANZAC Day March and wreath laying. They attend AECG meetings with other schools and Elders. Our students perform the welcome to country at every school assembly and other events.
The Junior AECG are active members of our school community. Each week they hand out and collect the Wiradjuri Awards, maintain our school Wiradjuri garden, plan our school NAIDOC activities and are positive role models for all students.
